“Building the boy into a young man of character is step 1, the athlete is step 2, and the lacrosse player is a byproduct of 1&2.” - Patrick Zanelotti, lacrosse coach/military leader
Since its inception, Lower Alabama Lacrosse (LAL) has honored the rich tradition of the Creator’s Game, serving athletes who seek growth, challenge, and opportunity—on and off the field.
We offer more than a chance to play lacrosse. LAL is a pathway to excellence. For our youth players (K–8), we focus on building strong fundamentals, fostering a love for the game, and creating an environment where every player can rise to new challenges—whether picking up a stick for the first time or striving for elite competition. Our consistent top finishes and championships speak to the skill, dedication, and progress we cultivate every season.
At the high school level, we fill the gap where opportunity is missing. With lacrosse not yet sanctioned by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), LAL provides a highly competitive travel program matching the intensity and commitment of any state-sanctioned sport. This program is demanding—and that’s what makes it special. Players are pushed, held to higher standards, and shaped into stronger athletes and individuals.
Our success is measured not only in championships, but in what our players go on to achieve. Many compete nationally with top-tier travel teams, and several have advanced to play at the NCAA Division I, Division II, and MCLA levels. This is a path for those who dream big, work hard, and refuse to settle.
Every practice, every game, and every season is a step forward. Our mission is simple: build players, foster teamwork, and instill discipline, sacrifice, and character. If you’re ready to embrace the challenge and be part of something bigger than yourself—LAL is ready for you.
